267 and counting…

Happy New Year folks!

It’s officially been 267 days since I’ve moved to LA and boy, it has been quite the adventure. I moved out to LA, like so many others, so I could be able to work and live in this crazy, strange, and exciting place called Hollywood. There has been some major adjustments like NO SNOW during winter (I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to get over that) but in all seriousness, I’ve been so fortunate. I’ve had the opportunity to work on some amazing sets and meet wonderful folks and this is only the beginning. Every new year brings hope, new dreams, and resolutions, and 2016 is no different; I hope that I will continue to live each day as I am on an adventure. I dream that this adventure will take me to sky where there are no limits. And lastly, I will do a better job of documenting it – I say it every year, but I WILL begin to write more and share my thoughts and what’s happening – because what’s the fun in an adventure if I can’t share it with others.

Remember folks, there are no wrong turns just sometimes a longer route to get where we want to be.

Until next time – stay safe, love, and be free!

Jewel + Pete

Jewel and Pete were referred to me by one of my previous couples. I had just moved to California when they contacted me and fortunately I was able to fly back to the Twin Cities to capture their lovely wedding at Cedars hall in Minneapolis. They were a sweet and wonderful couple to work with and so full of love. Here is their wedding highlight video.

Congratulations Jewel and Pete!

Gaosong + Marc

It was a complete joy to work with Gaosong and Marc on their wedding day. They were so in love and such a gracious couple. We were blessed with a beautiful day as they had a backyard ceremony with their reception at Buasavanh Banquet Hall.

Congratulations Gaosong & Marc!

Val + Pangku

Congratulations Val and Pangku!!

Here is the highlight video from Val and Pangku’s wedding on August 25th, 2013. It was a beautiful day (despite the very very humid and hot weather). The couple was so fun to work with; it was a great time. They had a gorgeous wedding ceremony at Cedarhurst Mansion with their reception at U Garden in Minneapolis.

For this wedding, I used a Panasonic GH1 and GH3. I was fortunate to have a second camera op, Ms. Katherine Langenfeld, who assisted me for the morning preparations and ceremony.

Enjoy!

Mind Full Of

Hey hey hey everyone! It’s been a very busy year so far. I just completed a set of videos for my dear friend Fres Thao who is releasing his vinyl album Mind Full Of on April 20th, 9:30 pm at Camp Bar – downtown St. Paul. You won’t want to miss it – there is a crazy amazing lineup of artists AND it will be an unplugged event.

As Fres releases videos, I will repost them up here — here is the first video:

Some things to look forward to:

-I filmed so much great footage with Fres that I will be creating a short 10-15 documentary, and hopefully I will be releasing that by the end of the month.

-HERMAN!!! It’s been so busy with moving, starting a new job, side projects, etc. – I have not forgotten about Herman. Katie and I are determined to finish this wonderful little short…and just in time for Spring/Summer 🙂

-Wedding season – I am so excited to be able to capture Auriel and Michael’s big day at the end of this month. Look out for that teaser trailer sometime in May.

-Writing, writing, writing — Katie and I have been brainstorming ideas so look out for some possible production by the fall of this year or at least pre-pro.

Alright folks, have a lovely evening, be safe, and be good to one another.
